Canada’s Express Entry system is evolving in 2025 to address labor shortages more effectively. The category-based selection process now prioritizes workers in specific high-demand sectors, including skilled trades.
If you have experience in construction, manufacturing, or related trades, you may now have a faster pathway to permanent residency in Canada.
Who is Eligible for the Trade Occupations Category in 2025?
To qualify for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under the trade occupations category, candidates must meet these criteria:
✅ At least six months of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience in one of the eligible trade occupations.
✅ Experience must have been gained within the past three years, either in Canada or abroad.
✅ Must meet the eligibility requirements for an Express Entry program, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

How to Apply for Express Entry Under the Trade Occupations Category?
